Job description

As a power electronics engineer intern, you will have an opportunity to learn and work together with the R&D team to develop power electronic products for EGSTON’s next generation PHIL systems and bring it to the market.

Your responsibilities

  • Assisting power electronics engineers in the development, validation,
    and certification of power electronic converters for EGSTON’s next generation
    PHIL systems.
  • Supporting technical documentation related to the specific technical
    analysis in the R&D process such as thermal analysis of the switching
    device, controller structure analysis, as well as MTBF calculations of critical
    components.
  • Supporting technical documentation related to
    industrialization of the newly developed product such as production procedures,
    testing procedures, etc.

Required qualifications (minimum)

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
  • High interest in power electronics technology.
  • Solution-oriented mindset and high appetite to learn something new.

Required skills

  • Experience in simulating various power electronics converter topologies
    with PLECS/Matlab/Simulink.
  • Experience in analyzing and simulating analog and digital circuits.
  • Theoretical knowledge of switching devices such as MOSFET, IGBT, SiC,
    and GaN.
  • Knowledge of power electronics topologies, control theory, and
    electrical power system.
  • Language: English (required), German (preferred).

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of PCB Design Software.
  • Knowledge of microcontroller programming.
  • Lab experience in power electronics research.

What we offer

The salary will be well above the remuneration specified in the collective bargaining agreement for internships and amounts to at least EUR 30.000 (full-time; annual gross) for this position. The actual amount of your remuneration will depend on your qualifications and your experience, and will be agreed upon individually.
