When Amazon.com launched in 1995, it
was with the mission “to be Earth’s most customer-centric company.” What does
this mean? It's simple. We're a company that obsesses over our customers. Every
day across the world we develop the ideas, services and products that make life
easier for millions of customers.
Amazon's Global
Engineering Services (GES) is at the heart of delivering fulfilment centres to
our Global Operations Organisation. GES has several functional groups who
contributes unique support to deliver projects such as Programme Management
(PMO), Engineering, Planning, and Analytics (EP&A), Design and Construction
(D&C), Startup (Project Management), Operations Engineering (Project Engineering),
Launch (Operations Integration), etc. Each functional group provides unique
support for projects within Global Operations, ranging from new launches and
building expansions to retrofits of existing sites and more. The GES
organization supports nearly all site types globally, including North and South
America, Europe, and emerging markets where Amazon is launching fulfillment
operations. We manage the entire project lifecycle, which includes planning,
design, execution, and integration. At GES, we equip our buildings with
cutting-edge technology to manage and support the timely delivery of vast
selection of products to our customers.
